CESAR CHAVEZ, JAYCEE, AND POWERS PARKS
These 3 parks have been grouped together due to the assessment scores and amenities of the park being very similar and their location consistent with small, suburban settings. The only exception to these three parks is the presence of a baseball diamond at Jaycee Park. The playground and park areas of each are approximately 1 acre in size and all three had equipment that was in fair to excellent condition. During assessment time [Table 4], there were very few people in the park in the evenings and on the weekend, but the few that were observed were there primarily for recreation and relaxation. These parks either didn’t have a restroom option or the restroom was locked and unavailable for use so the assessment could not be administered. There was also very little open green space for use outside of the playground equipment and parking was an issue in that the only park with a dedicated lot was Jaycee.
